Dear diary, So, big day, huh? I've got a... meeting... with Danny tonight. Sherman's having his birthday. And Theo is dead to us. So that's cool. I won't get too into the details of that, frankly, it was a lovely day for me all thing's told. Sherman got a call from his parents about some family heirloom arriving in the mail. Jack picked up cupcakes (I believe Lantern made them), and it's a lovely day. I asked Nym for help getting ready with the... meeting... and they went out all here on figuring it out. Think they completely forgot about Theo to be honest.
And so did I. Moving on.
Theo awakens at the log cabin of Jack's grandfather. Jack's lost friend, Abbette, is there. The man explains that Jack is a Tao, and that's why his eye is darkening. He mentions a dark secret about his family, but to only tell Jack, "when the time is right". Ricardo Yuletide, son of the mayor, has reason to go after the Broil family. Long ago, Jack's mother went north, to the wall of flames, and returned... different. She attacked Ricardo, leading to Ricardo being exiled from the town. Theo decides to talk to the mayor about this, knowing Ricardo must be related to the skin-stealing incidents in town.
From there we headed to the Knackery. The others wanted to ask about judge preferences for the Jamboree, I guess. Mr. Benson got kinda pissy about being asked. Kind of an overreaction in my book, but whatever. Kiwi mentioned her dad's been weird ever since he took over the company, and never leaves his Sylveon's side. Frankly, no idea how she deals with her family.
After that we hit up the Eggerton's for the same purpose. Pa Eggerton was pretty quick to answer he likes pastels and cute things. Go figure. Also, supposedly the second round is cooking theme, and the judges will care more about presentation than flavor. I never really understood the presentation side of cooking. As long as the texture isn't ruined, why should I care how the food looks?
Next on the to-do list, we picked up Sherman's gift from his parents. He got a beautiful Pan Flute, and a necklace with a dark orange diamond in it. All in all, looks fantastic! Real happy for the guy. He seems pretty good all around today too, been enjoying his Politoed Pajamas.
Finally, we picked up some new clothes. I told Nym I'd let them dress me up for my dat-meeting- and I think that was a good idea. They had me in heels, which frankly, suck, and I'm really not sure about having both my eyes out of my hair, and the whole wearing-a-dress thing just isn't my vibe but... I mean it went over well. So maybe they know what they're doing. I'd never say it to their face but... Nym is pretty reliable, and I appreciate that.
Theo traverses the woods, desparately trying to Rattle Road. He encounters a wild Snorlax, which tries to assault him, before he's rescued by the owner of Arbor Arbor and her Venusaur. They converse for a bit, before she sends him in the right direction. He sadly is unable to manage it fully, and levies the aid of flying-type Pokemon to return him to town, in exchange for apples. The local honcho of wild flying-types begins to fly him directly to Winter Wonderland...
I learned some interesting stuff though! For one, apparently Darcy and his friends took on Team Catch, which I definitely need to ask them about. Would love to hear they're not a problem anymore. Danny talked about his time doing ballet, which threw me off at first, but honestly sounds kinda cool after listening to him talk about it. He talked about his home life some too, which sounds, well... lonely. He's homeschooled, has a bunch of tutors, but no real friends. I know how that feels, but at least I can talk to some people back at school. And I've got the other's now too... So I offered to let him come along with us! It'd be nice to have him around, and I think it'd be really good if he starts to hang out with the other's too. I can't exactly have like, guy talk with him, but Jack can! And I think that'd be good for him!
Speaking of Jack, him, Sherman and Nym managed to get into the restaurant. I'm like... 100% certain they stole someone else's reservation. And dined and dashed. Oh and Nym totally made a scene. Spilled wine all over themselves... frankly, from a distance, HILARIOUS.
Theo arrives on the scene, landing on the upper floors of the Winter Wonderland, to be noticed by an exasperated Nym. He is disguised, not known as Theodore Granger, but as the Skingiver! Nemesis to the evil Skintakers!
The Skingiver's attempts to reach the mayor are nearly thwarted by Falkner Shnit, who's reckless actions put Nym's life in danger. After rescuing Nym, the Skingiver defeats Shnit, leading to his untimely arrest. He then takes the elevator to the mayor's office, with his new sidekick in tow. Nym is starstruck at the mere presence of the Skingiver.
They reach the mayor's office, where Skingiver presses the mayor for information about Ricardo. He buckles under the weight, and confesses that Ricardo met with him, agreeing to leave the town after one deal at the Valentine Knackery... tomorrow night. He then notes that Ricardo has a benefactor... the Skintakers! Finally, he says that is Skingiver can stop Ricardo and the Skintaker's, there will be no legal repurcussions. The time is right... for justice.
Regards,
Lily
