Day 1 of Victoria Isle
After helping cleanup the mess that the water monsters made, I started paying more attention to the weather and asking Boysen and Jostie what they thought. Jostie seemed anxious and the air seemed foreboding, so Harvey sent me to ask Musa. On my way, I met up with Team Spire at RCD! They were headed to Victoria Isle too, so I decided to travel with them for a bit. On the tram across the bridge, Rumo shared some… interesting pinecone recipes…
Stepping into Victoria Isle was shocking, though… The factories and buildings looked massive, but it was hard to see or smell the appeal past the garbage and I was worried about letting Boysen out… We found Musa in a dark house near a wind turbine, but it was closed and he didn’t really want visitors… We told him about the weather, but he got upset about being bothered and said that just because he’s smart doesn’t mean he can fix all the problems that need smart people. Apparently he actually doesn’t study weather, but studies how soil affects the growth of plants and Grass type Pokemon! Rumo then got excited about Grass-type Phosphorus but apparently it’s actually dust and not a Pokemon… But he did have a picture of a good boi Cavendish which was a tall grass type with plant wings and berries on its neck! He said he got his Tropeeus from Memento but they’re native to Isle F, so I should look for one later.
Oh, and then we visited Jozari’s parents who live in a grassier hilly area. It was actually pretty, and I could tell they put a lot of effort into maintaining the grass, but there wasn’t much diversity… Some wildflowers would make the fields look a lot better. Anyway, Jozari’s parents were nice enough and we had a nice meal!
Then we decided to catch a Pokemon that’s good against wind monsters, so we went Zap-dose hunting! There’s small “park” where they grow some trees but they were really close together and the roots couldn’t grow well because of the foundation around the trees, but we did see a Scrapmorey on a roof but it looked a lot shinier than the one who dressed as Moltrays in Spire’s play. Rumo tried running up the wall, then had Morrigon grow vines up the walls for him to grab, and it looked really cool! But he couldn’t get to the roof and the building worker wouldn’t let us up. She did tell us where Orecoreo live though, so we went downtown, found a whole nest of yellow ones, and I caught one named Kumquat! She was really beat-up and poisoned, so I spent the rest of my money to heal her. Arthur’s Litleo is really really strong too! She knocked out two of the four birds by herself.
We visited Jozari’s parents for dinner and tried to warn them about the bad weather the next day and the monsters the day after, but then they argued about whether they were actually an issue, and whether Musa was useful. Jozari ended up bragging about how he’d show people he was a good leader and would tell people to go inside when the storm was coming. Jozari stayed at his house to sleep, but Arthur, Rumo, and I had to find an alley to sleep in. Unfortunately, a floating balloon Pokemon attacked Arthur in the night and used spooky winds to try and hurt Litleo. Arthur beat it, but it doesn’t seem safe to sleep outside.
Day 2 of Victoria Isle
Today we expected some bad weather, so Jozari went off to tell people about it, Rumo went to get a job, and I’m not sure what Arthur did. I ended up getting a job since Rumo seemed responsible, but the storm must have started directly over the park because wind threw me into the air and knocked me out before I even knew what was happening! I’m guessing Zapdose was mad that I caught its mom Orecoreo. But Starly cushioned me and maybe calmed Zapdose down because I woke up in an alley. When the Starly flew away, they dropped a red sock… I got help at a nearby store where some other people were beat-up, and someone let me stay at their house for the night.
Day 3 of Victoria Isle
Oh my Santa, I forgot it was Christmas!! I got another sock and a berry today! I woke up and it was just on my chest. I felt a bit better, too, and told my hosts to stay inside because the weather would be even worse today… A little bit of a lie, but I think it’s what Team Spire would do, and it helps them in the end. I met backup with Rumo and Arthur and Jozari in the city, and Jozari told us what each of our berries do. Oh, and apparently Santa said Jozari was bad, but also didn’t deserve coal because Jozari would exploit it or something, so he got an Oran berry. My berry is a Yache berry, which protects my Pokemon from Ice attacks! Rumo is about to run over the plan for today and how we’re going to deal with the wind monsters.
