Entry 20 February 25th
Travis and Bowser came back to Liyettle City yesterday. Travis looks... But it’s okay, he doesn’t seem to notice. I don’t think anyone is going to tell him. Ricky is... gone. I wanted to show him my Wynaut; it’s apparently quite rare. But Bowser brought back his Pokedex, so all the new Pokemon will still be recorded. I’ve taken in his Shieldon, but she doesn’t seem to like me very much. I can’t blame her, since she did just lose her trainer... But I hope we can be friends, and that we can both move on together. I still wish I’d been there, instead of challenging the gym. I won, but what if I had been there instead? I might have been able to persuade them not to go...
Travis brought a new friend along named Soren. Apparently he’s a ranger. At first, it felt a little too soon to have suddenly gotten a new addition to our group with Ricky having died only recently. He also seems to be kind of a loudmouth. But he certainly seems to know what he’s doing!
We ran into R-Evo again, when we arrived at Kiurien... They pointed their stupid guns at us again, and now that Mittens has evolved into Meowstic and knows Psybeam, I almost had him zap them. But the risk was too high, I couldn’t bring myself to risk it; these two looked like they may not have been afraid to use their guns, unlike Poppy and Ethan. I’m so sick of their shit. Next time! I wonder how much bullet-proof vests cost...? If I can get better at doing jobs and I win more gyms and contests, maybe I can make more money and save up for one. But Soren was pretty great. He took a huge risk and drank from his water bottle, and then dropped it so it splashed everywhere. And get this: he tracked the footprints left after the grunts stepped in the water! Unfortunately, we lost them at the highway because they probably got in a car, but we think they may be headed back to Liyettle at least, but the police said they thought he was headed to Darven and that pharmaceutical company.
We decided to go do some research, and ended up at the museums in search of computers and knowledge. We went to the Museum of Marine Biology first because it was closest. It was kind of boring, but it had a Pokemon called “Basculin” in it and also some information about this natural phenomenon thing called a “gyre.” Apparently, these are circular currents that pull in things into one area in the ocean, stuff like sediments and pollutants, and there’s one affecting Kiurien. I imagine it’s probably pretty gross-looking, if the streets of Kiurien itself are any indication of what goes into the ocean right next to the city... We then went to the Museum of History, and I learned that Reikioro was founded 230 years ago, even though people have lived here as nomads for thousands of years. About two years after that, Reikioro had a sudden spike in modernization, and became similar to modern Reikioro with the uinturban cities, and then 50 years ago Pernilus was made the region’s capital because that’s where Prime Minister Ensi was from, and he was really good and solved a lot of Reikioro’s problems, decreased the crime rate, made people able to settle in the cities. It’s a little weird that Reikioro urbanized so quickly after its founding... Apparently Punnetton was responsible for it. That might be interesting to look into when we finally get there.
We challenged the gym challenge, too, but I’m tired now... I’ll write about it tomorrow.
Oh, but we ran into another strange Pokemon today. This time, it said “Only one has escaped from prison.” Soren heard it this time. I wonder what it meant?

Out of character notes, the R-Evo chant was:
“Everybody step back, relax, take a deep breath!
What, you think that we’ll cause your death?
Can you ever feel high if you’ve never felt low?
If you’ve never tried it, can you ever know?
Don’t you tell me what’s wrong and what’s right!
Get ready for battle, an Evo-paced fight!
Jason! Marissa!
Let’s make this a delight, alright?”
