Day 1
Can’t write much! Exhausted after heading out into the woods. My chance to really make a difference with my work starts now! Carol has invited me to stop by her research facility to confer and do some research on the ramifications of noise pollution and the environment at large on Pokémon. All the more important with the recent unfortunate events. There’s so much to study away from Perilous. Here’s to a successful adventure! This journal shall archive the legends of Diane Merigold for all the world to see! Or at least, help me with my papers in the future.
Here’s hoping, D
Day 2
I feel like I’ve made a mistake somewhere. This was supposed to be a rather routine research trip. Have a discussion with Carol on some data readouts, and maybe have some fun leaving our stuffy apartment. Instead, I was held up in the forest overnight and subsequently assaulted as soon as I awoke. Some rude travelers decided that a frightening sight gave them full permission to barge into a lady’s sleep chambers. Humph! Oh, but these weren’t any normal teenagers no, I couldn’t be nearly that lucky. Shortly after scolding them, they offered to walk me to my destination which would be rather kind had they not walk me straight into a mugging! By someone they KNEW no less! They had GUNS! I appreciate some rough and tumble every now and then, but this is far and beyond what I’d ever WANT. At the very least they walked me all the way to Carol’s.
Some how though. Somehow. I’ve been dragged into an entire expedition into the Northern Wastes. Carol gave me something of an assignment to check on the weather data stations up there. This group mentioned something about warm spots. They gave me some shifty looks and shallow answers when pressed about how they could possibly know this. And yet here I am in a tent next to a girl with a rather pretty pea coat. And apparent R EVO connections. I truly hope I don’t get pulled into more of their mess.

Day 3
We awoke with an extravagant stranger, and a shocked Bowser. Apparently there was a visitation from a “god” pokemon. The name Tornadus was mentioned. I’m so tired. In any normal circumstance I’d be ecstatic to meet not only an elite four member, but to meet one in such auspicious conditions. I’m still far and away from trusting these strange children, but their claims of crimes of the state so egregious seem a touch more palatable when said elite four member strikes so much fear into their faces. Not to mention his stubbornness to spy on us. An offer for breakfast had them stepping over themselves to stop me. We’ve not incredibly much further to go but I fear this mess will soon spread deeper and deeper.
