Dear diary,
As I'm sure you know, today is National Wooper Wednesday. As is tradition, I've attempted to venerate this holiday with an improved Peace of Mind, imitating the idle nature of the Wooper.
Sadly today had other plans.
First thing's first, I really wanted to start spending time with Corph, my Corphish... er, Crawdaunt now, I suppose. I kind of caught him on a whim initially, and after getting chewed out in Triangle Town about not really respecting him, I've felt kinda... guilty? I don't know. I have to catch a good number of Pokemon for Miles's research... but I can't be expected to like... take full care of all of them, right? I don't know... I think I need to consider a bit more the ethics of the situation. I've definitely heard here and there about Professors taking care of some trainer's extra Pokemon. Maybe I ought to ask my dad about it? He might be impressed that I'm taking the whole Pokemon thing a bit more seriously, anyhow.
Anyways, long story short, I let Sherman raise up Corph, and now he likes Sherman more than me. Which makes sense. Hell, I even asked if he wanted to trade, but no. So now I guess I want to start making it right. Jack offered to help me improve this relationship, which I'll get to later. Anyhow, we headed off to Rise & Shine to pick up Nym's dinosaur egg.
Rise & Shine was nice. The owner, Pa Eggerton, got Nym their egg, and told us about how they get their eggs mostly from the Valentine Knackery, owned by the Benson family. He also offerred to train Sherman to be a better Breeder, which was pretty nice of him! Anyhow, this got my interest up enough that I offered the idea to go check out the Knackery... worst mistake of my life.
I feel like I should've remembered this, but the Benson family are the largest producers of meat this country knows. Honestly, between this, and Georgio being such an ass... that whole family can shove it. (Kiwi's aight) Me, being vegan, didn't exactly have a great time on their tour. The guide, Cupid, kept prodding at me to make me uncomfortable... there was a whole room of meat hooks... a stun gun demonstration... and then a demo of how their assemble their lab grown meat. The whole thing made me feel so sick, I ran outside and threw up. The thought barely crossed my mind at the time, as I felt so sick... but their synthetic meat takes on the properties of any DNA it touches... seems eerily similar to the mask Chase gave us...
Anyhow, Theo came out to comfort me a little, while I was vomiting right into the pristine pink bushes outside. I told him about how I met Earl... haven't actually told anyone else this story, not even my own dad. Years ago, I brewed some tea for my dad and I, but I got caught up studying, so I never brought him his cup. I downed mine, although it kinda tasted funny... and then saw Earl in the other... I'm pretty sure I drank Earl's brother... and now another person knows about it. I don't know whether to feel relieved or concerned about it, but... I dunno. I trust Theo. He's definitely rough around the edges, and we butt heads a bit here and there, but he's a good dude. Watched my back too while I tried and failed to catch a Vanillite.
After my personal journey to the 6th Circle of Hell, we relaxed for a little bit. Jack helped me sort things out with Corph. Turns out he doesn't really respect me as a trainer, which I get. We haven't really had a chance to bond. Jack suggested I show Corph a display of strength, and said I should show it my bow skills, so I shot a Tomago Berry off Theo's head. Sadly the spiciness of it got in his eyes, but hey, things worked out with Corph!
Next, we went over to the Havarati Elementary School to take part in some Type Matchup Trivia Contest. Supposedly, getting all 5 questions right wins you a rare stone? Jack, Sherman and I took it, but only Sherman managed to win (he got a Leaf Stone). I think I was a little off my game due to the whole Meat Hell incident. No other reason to suspect I wouldn't ace a test, of course.
After that we headed in for the night. Since we finally had some consistent wi-fi, I took some time to edit some Nym footage into something usable for Niels. Hoping we get some decent dough out of this, and hoping it helps kickstart Nym's brand a bit more!
Gonna have nightmares,
Lily
Dear diary,
So Nym's dinosaur egg hatched, and it's a bit of a cutie. The guy seems to like Sherman's hair, which seems to be a recurring theme by now. Truth be told I'm in a lot better of a mood today. Theo, panicking that school is next week (can't wait!!) is insisting we do fun, normal summer activities today, and frankly, I'm taking that as a breathe of fresh air! I took a look in my email, and Niels paid handsomely for the battle footage, which I really appreciate! Oh and uh... I have a date tomorrow. I think. I guess we haven't like... said the word? But, yeah, Danny made reservations at the Winter Wonderland, which first of all, how? But I don't know, I'm kind of excited. I've never really been on one of these before, so it's a little nerve-wracking... I'm sure it'll be fine. I haven't told the fellas, and I'm trying to play it cool there. They know I'm going on to "meet with another client". Manager stuff. It'll be fine. I'll see if Jack's sis, Cinnamon can help me figure out something to wear.
Anyways, to sate Theo's desire for normalcy, we went apple picking! Everyone got some nice, juicy apples, and we even found a cute little Applin, which Theo befriended. He says his name is supposedly "Gilgamesh"? I dunno, the guy seemed pretty angry. I don't wanna read into it too much, but Theo mentioned something about Gilgamesh calling Jack's new Golett "a coward"? Beats me.
At the time of writing, we're on our way to a pumpkin patch, which I guess isn't super summery, but hey, it's fun! I think I'm starting to pick up some of the energy Theo is putting down. In fact, I kinda wanna make a pledge. At least until school starts, maybe we should just try for no more chaos. I'm sure it can't show up at our front door again.
Hopeful for the days ahead,
Lily
